Senior Accountant
J.C. BAR Properties, Inc. is an innovative commercial real estate development and property management company in the Mid-Atlantic Region boasting a management portfolio of nearly 30 retail centers, totaling nearly 4 million square feet of retail properties and more than $1 Billion in development experience. This full-time position is responsible for assisting the Controller.
Responsibilities
Senior Accountant to maintain the general ledger and balance sheet to ensure company assets are generating positive cash flow and in good standing
Review and reconcile property income and expenses and bring any discrepancies, problems, or questions to Controller and Property Manager
Interpret commercial leases and enter key data into integrative property management/accounting software
Provide oversight and participate as needed in preparation and assistance of month-end statements, rent collection, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis
Produce and review annual CAM reconciliations for a portfolio of properties.
Support auditors with year-end queries and reconciliations
1099 preparation for corporate entities and all managed properties
Assist with annual budgeting process including mid-year projections
Ability to establish priorities and meet tight deadlines while working in a team-oriented environment
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in real estate, private equity or fund accounting
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting or finance required
Experience with Yardi or similar Property Management software is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
Strong communication, analytical skills, attention to detail and organization to work effectively on a team and support various accounting needs
Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task
Strong organizational skills, including writing, reporting and research
